The entire unit of Ajay Devgan's Sunday - that's 600 people - moved to Hyderabad to complete a song sequence, when it poured in Mumbai over the weekend.
What happens when you have to finish work on a day when it's pouring and there is danger that your film's expensive set will get damaged? Ask director Rohit Shetty who had to wrap up shooting a song sequence for his film Sunday when it was raining heavily in Mumbai.
Rohit had to shift the film's shooting location from Mumbai to Hyderabad when the rains played spoilsport. And it was anything but an easy task considering that Rohit had to shift 600 people who feature in the song!
Reportedly, the song cost a bomb as the set alone was worth Rs 80 lakh and 600 people had to be taken to Hyderabad. Thankfully for the unit, the set did not get damaged.
But, the cost doubled up considering that the entire set and unit comprising about 600 people had to be shifted to Hyderabad for the song. Speaking from Hyderabad, Rohit says, "Yes it was pretty awful.
Thankfully, we were saved in the nick of time. I know that bringing 600 people from Mumbai to Hyderabad turned out to be very expensive. But, we were left with no choice. Ajay Devgan was to shoot for that song but now he will be joining us here only on Wednesday.
"There was no other option. But looking at rains in Mumbai, I guess I am lucky that we took this decision of shifting the location here. We would have suffered much greater financial loss had the set been damaged. Now Arshad Warsi and
Ayesha Takia are already here and we are shooting some important sequences with them," adds Rohit.
